TOPIC: Files and folders permissions

Files and folders permissions 2 years ago #11802

Hi all,

I'm new to breezingForms, and i just finnish my install on my remote server.

It looks like i have file permissions problems (that's my opinion, but maybe i'm wrong)

My first bug was that i wasn't able to realize installation step 2, i fix that modifying the permissions on the folder com_facileforms giving write permissions. I was lucky now it works.

Now i just tryed to look at the samples (contact form) and i saw that the captcha image doesn't display. I suppose it's again a file permission problem.

Can someone provide me a list of all the folders and files that must have write permission, it could be really cool and it will make me win a lot of time.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you soon

Hello,

Unfortunately, I do not come to bring of the assistance.
On the contrary, I encounter the same problem exactly as JayM.
A list of the permissions to be granted would be cool.

Thank you in advance

Re:Files and folders permissions 2 years ago #11899

Hi Vincent,

I have a solution who's starting to work...

First i tried to install the plugin directly online, and that was not a good idea.

So i realized the installation on my local server and it's going better. I plan to develop my forms localy and then update the production site.

Another topic, was that i contacted my web server provider and ask him to turn off the PHP Safe Mode. It's working better, as i was encountering troubles with other plugins that need write permission.

I will post more info as soon as i will update my production server. Hope i have good news ...

Re:Files and folders permissions 1 year, 12 months ago #11958

Hi Terry

I'm working with the 1.7 (com_breezingforms_170)

My web server is running :
  1. PHP 5.2.6
  2. MySql 5.0.45

But since my provider turned the PHP_Safe_Mode::off it solves me a lot of troubles that i was encountering with other components that need write permissions in the file system (DocMan, MorfeoShow ...) So i suppose the problems i had with Breez will be solved too.
I thinked i was unable to load captcha, but locally it works. I realize that the captcha in the sample contact_form dosen't work, even locally, but it's probably a bug cause the captcha works perfectly in my own forms.

I'm actually preparing my forms locally and i will migrate them to my remote server on next sunday. I will post a feedback as soon as it's done, but i'm almost sure it will work.

Just let me tell you that it takes me 15 min. to realize my first form in quick mode and now i'm learning the classic mode and it seems to be an excellent tool.

Thanks

JayM

Hi JayM,

Glad to hear you're liking BreezingForms!

Did you manage to solve your issue with the black screen? (I assume so since your post has been edited and the image removed.)

If you still have trouble with your forms or Captcha once you get BF loaded onto your server, just let us know, okay?

Thanks,

Terry
