TOPIC: Confirm information

Confirm information 1 year, 11 months ago #12194

Hello there,

I am about to create a form which when a person logs on to our site they will be able to register the details of an item they have purchased elsewhere.

The form will contain an email address, short product description and a number (8 digit) which is allocated to the product.

Once they complete the form I would like them to receive an email or advice confirming that they have registered their item which details the item number and product description

I hope that makes sense. Rather than just confirming their registration I would like them to be sure that the product they registered is as described in their original application.

Is this possible and if so is it difficult to do??

Cheers

Hi Damian,

How many different products/8-digit numbers do you have? Are they standard/static (i.e. don't change), or are they generated as a unique item number for each registrant?

You can set up the textfield to be integers only. To do so, check 'Validation Required'at the bottom of the textfield element's screen, click on 'Library' and then select "ff_integer" to restrict it to numbers only if that's how they're set up.

Within the textfield, you could also limit the number of characters to 8, but that might not be the best way to do it if you have a limited set of product numbers. (In that case, I'd probably go with a select-list for them to choose from.)

And finally, yes, you can set up the form to send a copy to the registrant. Go to Form Properties -> Advanced tab, and check Mailback or Mailback as sender. (Mailback as sender will show the registrant's email address as the 'From' field. Mailback will send them a copy.)

Hope this helps...

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your prompt response. That all makes sense to me - I understand and believe I can implement.

Cheers

Hello!

And finally, yes, you can set up the form to send a copy to the registrant. Go to Form Properties -> Advanced tab, and check Mailback or Mailback as sender. (Mailback as sender will show the registrant's email address as the 'From' field. Mailback will send them a copy.)

I cant find Mailback or Mailback as sender under advanced tab. I am using 1.7.0 version...and i am checking for that in Qucikmode form. Is this intended to be in Classic form or am i doing something wrong?
Is there any other way to give a customer response or to give him/her confirmation mail?
Thank you in advance

I'm having the same problems finding it. Is there an answer to not seeing mailback in the quickmode?
