TOPIC: Enable mm functions plugin and site disappeared

Enable mm functions plugin and site disappeared 5 years ago #409

It could be an enormous coincidence but my site disappeared immediately after enabling the mm functions plugin as instructed on the Crosstec website. The page simply never returned. Now I can't to the front end or the back -end.
I can get to my plogger directory on the same site however so I know the server is out there.

Please Help me!

I deleted every file and directory that seemed to be breezing forms related (or mm functions) and my site started working again. This code is obviously nowhere near ready for use.

dude, instead of deleting everything it would be fine if you guy would have given me the chance to find out what happened on your machine. just saying it wouldnt be near ready is very contraproductive. so long.

btw: I have evidence that you use php4. As of the download page you can see in big letters "PHP4 is not supported".

I also recommend you to switch to php5 no matter if you want to use breezingforms or not. just a tip, cause a lot of other components won't work for you too.

You are quite right. I have just checked with my ISP and the PHP version is 4.x, over which I have no control. I had brought down an organisation's website so couln't wait for a reply to my post and that's why I deleted the files. I accept that I therefore can't comment on the status of the code and retract that statement (for what it's worth) but crikey, that was some severe reaction to PHP 4. Maybe the warnings could be bigger and bolder.

I made it bigger and also added a warning after installation. the main problem of this all is, that the joomla installer doesnt seem to support php version checking or they have hidden that in the docs quite good.

but the mm-plugin is now at least php4 compatible such that it doesnt cant crash the whole site again.
