It would sure be nice if we could modify the CAPTCHA configuration (such as number/list of characters) from the GUI and/or have a ReCAPTCHA plugin developed for BF. The included CAPTCHA engine is kind of weak.

Is this on a list of future improvements?

reCaptcha for BF is in the works but for this I recently read it is not that strong as well. I didn't read deeply into the attack vector but for the current Captcha I haven't heard yet about massive amounts of spam that makes it through (correct me if I am wrong).
