TOPIC: SEF URLs!

SEF URLs! 2 years, 1 month ago #10972

Are you planning to add search engine-friendly URLs to BF? That's a really important feature I would like to have.

Hi,

I am not sure what you mean? If you assign a form to a menu item or article using the plugin, the url of your SEO solution is used.

What I mean is URLs that are human-readable English.

For example, here is the URL of a BreezingForms form on my existing web site:
www.theweboasis.com/component/option,com_facileforms/Itemid,86/

Instead of a cryptic URL that is not indexable by search engines I would prefer that the URL read something like the following:
www.theweboasis.com/web-site-feedback/

That's how my old form-building component (RSForm! Pro) worked and it was really nice to have SEF URLs built into the component.

Hi Stanman1,

That it easy enough to remedy...

1. Make sure you have the BreezingForms plugin installed. (plg_breezingforms_17x.zip)

2. Create a new article - call it, for example, "Web Site Feedback."

3. In the body of that article, insert this code:

{ FacileForms : FORMNAME }

(where FORMNAME is the name of your form as shown in the NAME column under the Manage Forms screen.)

NOTE: If you are using BreezingForms Version 1.7.2 the correct syntax is:

{ BreezingForms : FORMNAME }

(where FORMNAME is the name of your form as shown in the NAME column under the Manage Forms screen.)

Connect your new article to your menu as you would with any other article. Assuming you have SEF-URLs implemented, which it sounds like you do, you should now see that form as an article with a name like you are looking for.

I hope this helps - if you require any further clarification, please feel free to ask.

Thanks,

Terry

That is a brilliant and easy solution; thanks! Can't believe I didn't think of that.

I'm having the same issue but the solution suggested didn't work for me. I added the code to a new article, but the code shows up in the article, not the form.

I tried many variations, thinking I missed something in the syntax...
{facileforms : myformname}
{facileforms: myformname}
{facileforms myformname}
{breezingforms : myformname}
etc.

Argh! What did I overlook?

Thanks!
